Introduction...

Hello there! Welcome to Stage Scuttlebutt, Chatter and More... a blog dedicated to everything theatre, on the stage and behind the scenes.

We here at Stage Scuttlebutt have a mission to talk about the ever changing world of theatre through a range of topics, thoughts and ideas, with a special interest in local theatre and the up and coming. However, before all that we thought we would take you all behind the scenes of Stage Scuttlebutt!

The main person behind our blog is creator Emily Newbold, or as we know her Dotti!

Dotti has always been a creative person, and in her older years she turned her creative skills to SFX Makeup, sewing and costume design.

Dotti recently finished College, where she studied Television and Film (we know!). In her last year Dotti worked with the College's Drama students on their end of year production as a makeup artist and made the decision to switch over to theatre as her future profession after finding she enjoyed working in theatre more than television and film.

Dotti now works as a Wardrobe Assistant and Dresser in the industry, in between jobs Dotti can be found back in her small Aberdeenshire village, sewing, writing and keeping up-to-date with the latest theatre news. Dotti also kept in touch with a few of the Drama students she went to College with. It was here that she heard about the local theatre they were involved in and formed the idea to create Stage Scuttlebutt, Chatter and More... so that the spotlight could be given to local theatre and its upcoming stars and behind the scenes personnel, as well as exploring the larger theatre industry.
